I drew the design on my iPad. Can I just upload that, or do I need to clean it up first?
Upload it as-is. The tool is built to read finished fine line designs, not pre-cleaned line drawings. As long as your circles look like circles and your parallels look like parallels to you, the output will hold that geometry precisely. One thing to know: this is design-to-stencil conversion, not a sketch-cleanup tool, so the design itself should be done.
How is this actually different from doing it in Procreate? I already know my way around it.

Sketchy lines, vague shades, and blended colors blur the edges and can make the stencil less precise. Clean lines, strong contrast, and strong color differences make for a perfect stencil.
